THEY New York is a minimalist footwear label founded by siblings Jack and Angela Lin. The founders come from a family that has been manufacturing footwear for Japanese private labels for the past 40 years. The core design of THEY is inspired by fundamental elements of the German Bauhaus movement and the aesthetics rooted in Japanese minimalism and architectural forms. We believe in creating a shoe that celebrates design itself, with each pair standing out with muted elegance.

PairUp Shoes

Pair Up-The diversity shoes. Everyday our world is increasingly diverse. The diversity of religion, race, gender, culture etc. are things that are bound to be different from person to another. How can we be familiar about others differences and express our openness of accepting our culturally diverse world? PairUp-Walk in my shoes is a project made to encourage people embrace diversity and cultural differences like never before. A life style shoes meant to be worn as a mismatched shoes each half a pair is adapting and representing specific country.

Wiivv Custom Fit Sandal

Wiivv's award winning smartphone app captures customers biometric foot data and generates a biomechanically optimised sandal design. It is 3D printed in San Diego California and shipped to the customer within 14 days. Using the customers foot data, the sandal's arch support is printed unique to them, and the straps placed in custom locations. The triple density foam footbed, deep heel cup, biomechanically data driven design, no rub toe thong construction, custom strap placement and custom arch support make it the most comfortable sandal on the market, without compromising aesthetics.

Octopus

Softness and support are contradictory. The designer realizes that a single shoe cannot achieve the strength of exercise. Shoes with multiple layers of material or hard materials are not comfortable. Inspired by the architectural structure, the designer designed a scaffolding model that combines functionality and aesthetics on a soft material basis to achieve a balance between support and softness, and decided to adopt the concept of mechanical aesthetics to enhance the futuristic look.

Unconventional Chic

The project stemmed from a need to design shoes for real women. Focus in the design of these shoes was the application of industrial designs to create a shoe that caters to all women's body types, concentrating on women with wide feet in particular, but still reflecting a unique taste. Constructing what appears to be an architectural object, with its bronze brass, gave the designer room to play with technical details such as the small V-shape at the front, which provides a more comfortable fit.

Using an originative shoe layering Compound method that retraces the known base hierarchy of function and shape in Shoe layers. Walk of mind bridges gaps between Modern digital technology and old-world craftsmanship while weaving together Nylon 12 polymer and vegetable-tanned leather. The shoe design process begins with Personal customization by using a digital scan of a Certain foot. The design can be adjusted to any foot, depends on the scanned model.
